This program is aimed at teachers, administrators and others who want to develop professional knowledge and understanding in educational assessment and become experts and leaders in designing and evaluating assessment policies and practices based on foundational principles and research. School leaders and assessment specialists in curriculum specifications and guidelines, including: assessment standards; furthering formative uses of assessment to improve student learning; advising schools on their assessment policies and practices; managing quality assurance processes (including moderation systems); designing and interpreting tests (including test items and extended tasks); and managing educational uses of information technology (for undertaking assessments and using databases).

Entry Requirements:

Bachelor degree in Education, or equivalent; or Bachelor degree in an area other than Education and a recognised teaching qualification; or Bachelor degree in an area other than Education and a Graduate Certificate in Educational Studies or equivalent

Structure:

To qualify for the degree, a student must complete 120 credit points from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of: 80 credit points from Core Assessment Units; 40 credit points from Electives.
