The Graduate School each year normally offers a scholarship to an Indigenous Australian to undertake graduate study.

Eligibility

Applications are open only to Indigenous Australians. Applicants for a research scholarship must hold a bachelor degree with at least upper second-class honours, or equivalent prior studies including some research work. Applicants for a coursework scholarship must hold at least a bachelor degree.

Applicants for a research program are strongly encouraged to contact the relevant Graduate Studies Convenor or a prospective supervisor, prior to lodging their application.

Amount $27,596

The scholarship provides a living allowance valued at $27,596 per year (2019 RTP rate). Other benefits include travel to Canberra from within Australia, reimbursement of some removal expenses, and a thesis reimbursement allowance.
