The John Conrad Jaeger Scholarship is a stipend top-up awarded in conjunction with an Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) to an outstanding PhD candidate.

Eligibility

Applicants must: be Australian or New Zealand citizens, or permanent residents; hold a bachelor degree with first class honours, or a research master degree from a recognised university; apply for and receive an APA; and intend to undertake doctoral research in the field of earth sciences. Selection is based on academic merit.

Before lodging an application, applicants for a research program are strongly encouraged to contact the relevant Graduate Studies Convener or a prospective supervisor, to discuss the proposed research topic and related matters.

Amount $8,002

The scholarship provides a top-up stipend valued at approximately $8,002 per year. The scholarship is tenable for 3 years, with a possible 6-month extension.
