This qualification is part of the Hairdressing and Beauty Services Training Package. It is a preparatory qualification which provides a defined and limited range of basic skills and knowledge used in hairdressing salons by individuals who provide assistance with client services. These routine and repetitive tasks are completed under direct supervision and with guidance from hairdressers who manage the client service.

Core: Provide shampoo and basin services; Conduct salon financial transactions; Dry hair to shape; Maintain and organise tools, equipment and work areas; Greet and prepare clients for salon services; Comply with organisational requirements within a personal services environment; plus more. Electives: Provide head, neck and shoulder massages for relaxation; Braid hair; Research and use hairdressing industry information; plus more.
