Bachelor of Midwifery - Graduate Entry

The Bachelor of Midwifery (Graduate Entry) provides registered nurses the opportunity to complete a course to enable them to apply for registration as a midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). This qualification will equip students with necessary skills and knowledge in the areas of antenatal, childbirth and postnatal care. The Bachelor of Midwifery (Graduate Entry) uses innovative teaching strategies that meet Australian national standards.

Entry Requirements:

Applicants must be registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a registered nurse in order to undertake the course. Applicants are also required to have an undergraduate degree for acceptance into the course. Recognition of prior learning will be assessed on a case by case basis.

Students may undertake postgraduate study in health at a Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Masters level including Gerontology, Hospital and Health Services Management, Mental Health Nursing, Clinical Nursing, and Mental Health Nursing.

Further information:

Mandatory pre-clinical checks are required prior to residential schools. Mandatory checks/pre-clinical requirements are due by January 31 in the year of commencement. Some units require compulsory residential schools.

Recognition:

Upon completion students will be eligible to apply for registration as a Registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
