Essential Skills Training and Recruitment

This qualification is part of the Health Training Package. It covers workers who provide support for the effective functioning of health services. These functions are carried out under supervision and require the use of some discretion and judgement. These workers may also provide a team leadership, workplace training or leading hand function. These workers do not deliver direct care to clients.

15 units: 6 core; 9 electives

Core: Comply with infection prevention and control policies and procedures; Communicate and work in health or community services; Participate in workplace health and safety; Conduct manual tasks safely; Organise personal work priorities and development; Work with diverse people. Elective streams: Cleaning; Laundry; Food Services.
