This program of study is designed for students who have previously completed an Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA) recognised course other than exercise physiology and who want to further their education to become a clinical exercise physiologist. Students will participate in at least 360 hours of placements in locations that vary from clinical hospital-based practice t rural and remote locations. Students may specialise in areas including musculoskeletal rehabilitation, cardiac rehabilitation, chronic disease management (eg. diabetes, obesity), health promotion and disease prevention, and return-to-work settings as well as work as an accredited exercise physiologist in a hospital, health and fitness centre, sporting academy, sports clinic, rehabilitation clinic or in private practice.
Structure
36 credit points of study. This online course also requires limited face-to-face attendance on the Townsville campus.

Completion of an ESSA accredited AQF level 7 bachelor of sport and exercise science program or equivalent qualification from an overseas institution or hold current ESSA accreditation as an exercise scientist
