The Wolfe Award
James Cook University (JCU)
The Wolfe family has been involved in education for generations. Altheas grandfather taught at one-teacher schools throughout Queensland and her father also began his career as a teacher in very small schools. Whilst Mr Wolfe concluded his career with an administrative position within the education department, many believed his true dedication was to teaching. Althea credits her fathers progress within the Department of Education largely as a result of a scholarship he received immediately port war that allowed him to attend university. It is because of this opportunity provided to her father that Althea is interested in establishing a similar scholarship for students at James Cook University.
