Structure
To qualify for the award of the Master of Financial Analysis, students must complete 240 credit points consisting of: 165 core credit points 15 core choice credit points 60 specialisation credit points Advanced standing: - 45cps of advanced standing would be offered to students who have completed a Bachelor Degree, or Graduate Certificate, in a business discipline, which includes at least one subject in each of economics, accounting, and statistics. - 15cps of advanced standing for the subject FIN5005 would be offered to students who, prior to census date in their final semester, successfully completed either: - CFA Level 1, or - The "Professionalism and Ethics" module of the FINSIA "Chartered Banker" program

Standard entry requirements
- Postgraduate: Prerequisites - Undergraduate requirements - Successful completion of an Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent).
- International: IELTS - 6.5 < 6.0 (PG minimum) - 6.5 IELTS (Academic) with no individual band less than 6.0.

Recognition
La Trobe University is recognised by the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute as a University Affiliate for its Master of Financial Analysis. The Master of Financial Analysis is recognised by CFA Institute as covering more than 70% of their Candidate Body of Knowledge defined for CFA Program examinations, Levels I-III. Please contact CFA Institute for further details.Graduates of the Master of Financial Analysis may apply for membership with the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA) . Membership may be subject to additional or ongoing requirements beyond completion of the degree. Please contact the relevant professional body for details.
Study pathways
Applicants with demonstrated prior learning in business, either in the form of an undergraduate degree in a business related field or with at least five years relevant business experience, will be eligible to apply for Advanced Standing (credit) for the four subjects of the first semester of the course. In making an offer of Advanced Standing to an applicant, the University may give consideration to a range of factors including academic record, and employment experience.
