The Honours Year Grants Scheme (HYG) was set up as an equal opportunity measure in 1988 to encourage students who are experiencing hardship to enrol for the honours year of their undergraduate course.
Eligibility
Applicants must: be Australian or New Zealand citizens, permanent residents or humanitarian visa holders; and have received, or expect to receive, acceptance into an honours program at La Trobe University. Selection is based on conditions of personal, financial and family hardship that might otherwise hinder the ability to succeed in an honours program. Applicants are required to submit a report from an academic referee.
