This unit is part of the Electrotechnology Training Package. It covers the explosion-protection aspects for electrical, electronic, instrument and data communication installations for hazardous gas atmospheres. It requires the ability to select, prepare and use appropriate testing devices, work safely and to standards and to interpret and record test results.

Entry Requirements:

Prerequisite unit: Report on the integrity of explosion-protected equipment in a hazardous area; and competencies in conducting testing of general electrical, electronic, instrumentation and/or data communication installations has been achieved at AQF 3 or equivalent.
