RMIT Maternal and Child Health Nursing Scholarship

This scholarship is funded by the Victorian Government Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). The Maternal and Child Health (MCH) nursing scholarships are designed to attract high quality nurse midwives to increase the capacity of Victoria’s already world-class MCH nursing workforce. DHHS supports this scholarship as an initiative of the Victorian Government’s Early Childhood Reform Plan.

Eligibility

Applicants must: be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, an Australian permanent resident or a permanent humanitarian visa holder; have accepted a place, and/or be enrolled at RMIT University in the Graduate Diploma in Child and Family Health Nursing (GD159); be currently registered as a Division 1 Registered Nurse (without restrictions) with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency; be currently registered as a Midwife (without restrictions) with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. To be considered for a bursary, applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria: applicants from rural and remote regions; applicants who identify as being from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds or who speak a language other than English at home; applicants who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander; applicants residing in and undertaking their clinical placement in areas with high workforce deficit.

Amount $4,250

The MCH Nursing scholarship provides funding of up to $4,250 for Commonwealth Supported Places for:Full-time students over one yearPart-time students over two yearsThe number and value of scholarships offered will be determined based on the number of eligible applicants that have accepted a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP). Bursaries of up to $5,130 are also available for eligible students.
