This qualification is part of the Health Training Package. It reflects the role of pathology assistants and specimen reception staff in laboratories. Workers in this role follow known routines and procedures, taking responsibility for their own work under general supervision.

Electives: Maintain the laboratory/field workplace fit for purpose; Perform aseptic techniques; Receive and prepare samples for testing; Perform calibration checks on equipment and assist with its maintenance; plus more.

Established in 2005, Southern IML Pathology is a Registered Training Organisation offering training in pathology. Courses are available at Certificate III level.
