Certificate II in Conservation and Land Management

TAFE NSW

This qualification is part of the Agriculture, Horticulture and Conservation and Land Management Training Package. It provides an occupational outcome in conservation and land management. Work would be carried out under general guidance and supervision. It enables individuals to select an Indigenous land management, conservation earthworks, lands, parks and wildlife or natural area management context as a job focus or a mix of these.

Structure:

15 units: 2 core; 13 elective

Subjects you can Study:

Core: Participate in workplace health and safety processes; Participate in environmentally sustainable work practices. Electives: Recognise fauna; Assist with prescribed burning; Maintain cultural places; Carry out natural area restoration works; Protect and preserve incident scene; Recognise plants; Apply animal trapping techniques; Clear features that harbour pest animals; Conduct visual inspection of park facilities; Apply chemicals under supervision; Install, maintain and repair farm fencing; Inspect and clean machinery for plant, animal and soil material; plus more.
