The Master of Arts (Chaplaincy Studies) at Notre Dame is an innovative program which has been designed for graduates who would like to develop their knowledge, skills and competencies in chaplaincy and pastoral care. The program provides an entry-level qualification for people who have a strong interest in community work.

Structure

  • Must complete a minimum of 300 Units of Credit, which include the following Courses: 25 Units of Credit from one (1) Core Curriculum Course
  • 25 Units of credit from one ARTS research methods course
  • 50 Units of Credit from two (2) capstone courses
  • 200 Units of Credit from eight (8) compulsory Courses from one Specialisation

Standard entry requirements

  • An applicant must usually hold a first degree or the equivalent in related work experience. They will also be required to demonstrate a suitable level of mature life experience, including self-awareness, a capacity to relate to others and an understanding of ethical behaviour
  • Admission into the Master of Arts (Chaplaincy Studies) requires a selection interview with a member of the academic staff. Applications should be received at least one month prior to commencement. However, there are limited places available in postgraduate courses and they will be filled on a first-come first served basis, so early application is strongly encouraged.
