Esther Burns/DECD Country Teaching Scholarship

University of Adelaide, The

The scholarship has been established by the University of Adelaide in conjunction with the Department for Education and Child Development (DECD). Funding for these scholarships has been provided by a bequest to the University from Esther Burns, a teacher who spent many years teaching in Port Augusta and Quorn, with matching funds from DECD.

Eligibility

Applicants must: be Australian citizens or permanent residents; be undertaking the final year of a Bachelor of Teaching or a Master of Teaching program; and be qualified to teach Science or Maths and intend to complete a country teaching practicum. Students must be studying full-time, or part-time in a Commonwealth Supported Place.

Amount $1,600

The scholarship is valued at $1,600 payable in Semester 1.
