The Master of Medical Ultrasound is designed to build on students' knowledge and skills that were developed and gained in the Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound. This course is not an entry course to the profession; it is a post graduate course for students who are already practicing clinically within medical ultrasound. The course will offer students two pathways of study. The first pathway of study will allow students to develop beginning research skills in medical ultrasound and the second pathway will allow students to focus on a clinical speciality within medical ultrasound and demonstrate a mastery of knowledge and clinical skills within that speciality. Entry to the this course will only be available to students who have a Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound or equivalent and can demonstrate that they are working within medical sonography or using medical ultrasound within their health practice. On entry students who hold a Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound from UC or equivalent from another university will be offered credit of 12 credit points. Students who not demonstrate this will be offered a range of electives to suit their professional and developmental needs.

  • Applicants must have completed a Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound or demonstrate equivalence in the field of medical ultrasound. Assumed knowledge
  • Medical ultrasound skills and clinical knowledge. There are non-standard English language requirements for this course. To be eligible you must have an academic IELTS of 7.0 overall, or equivalent.
