The Diploma in Music gives you the opportunity to further your musical training or explore areas of academic and practical interest in music, while gaining a music qualification alongside your undergraduate studies in another field. The program can be tailored, depending on your interests, and provides access to the full range of the curriculum at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. This Diploma consists of 100 points (usually eight subjects) of elective subject choices, usually taken across three years, which may be chosen from all areas of study within the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music.

Standard entry requirements

To be eligible to enrol in the Diploma in Music you must already be enrolled in one of the following undergraduate degrees at the University of Melbourne: Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Biomedicine, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Design, Bachelor of Science.

Study pathways

As a graduate, you'll be eligible to continue your music studies through completion of a Bachelor of Music, or Graduate Diploma in Music. This can lead to further graduate study, including the Master of Music (Performance Teaching) and a range of graduate study options.
