Rebecca Rigg made a bequest to the University of Melbourne to promote and encourage the study and research in mining and metallurgy. The scholarships are awarded to enable the scholar to pursue higher studies, research or travel.
Eligibility
Applicants must have a strong background in mathematics, applied mathematics, chemistry, engineering, earth sciences or equivalent with honours H2A or higher.

The scholarship is valued at $26,000 per year for 3 years.
