Newman College Archbishop Mannix Travelling Scholarship

University of Melbourne, The

The scholarship was endowed by the Catholics of Victoria in honour of the former Archbishop of Melbourne, the Most Reverend Daniel Mannix. The scholarship is awarded every 2-3 years to a male or female candidate after graduating from an Australian University.

Eligibility

Applicants must: have graduated from an Australian university; give evidence of real capacity for successful research; possess the qualities of character and general ability which would justify the hope of becoming a competent member of the teaching staff of a tertiary institution and a well-reputed Catholic in that office; and satisfy the selection committee that his or her financial position warrants a grant from the fund to enable him or her to pursue postgraduate studies at an overseas university.

The scholarship will initially be awarded for 2 years, but may be extended to 3 years.

Amount $50,000

The scholarship is valued at $50,000 per year for up to 3 years.
