Newman College Choral and Strings Scholarship

Newman College offers Choral and Strings Scholarships to musicians of high calibre. The Choir of Newman College was established at the beginning of 2002 to serve as the chapel and concert choir of Newman College, an affiliated residential College of the University of Melbourne.

Eligibility

All members of the Newman College Choir will receive this scholarship. Entry into the choir is dependent on an audition.

The Choir Library Scholar will receive a scholarship of $1,100 in addition to the normal Choral Scholarship. The Choir Library Scholar is responsible for the distribution, collection, cataloguing and maintenance of the Choir Library. Applicants interested in this scholarship should indicate this on the application form.

Amount $1,100

The scholarship is valued at $1100 from the College in their first year, and $1360 for the second year. Residents at Newman College will in addition receive a $1000 reduction from their fees in the second semester, and will also receive an additional $300 per annum if students undertake vocal tuition.
