Sir Arthur Sims Travelling Scholarship

The Sir Arthur Sims Travelling Scholarship enables graduates of Australian universities to undertake postgraduate study or research in Great Britain. The scholarship is awarded as funds permit, and is funded through the Sir Arthur Sims Travelling Scholarship Fund.

Eligibility

Applicants must: be graduates of an Australian university; demonstrate outstanding academic merit and promise; have been born in Australia or have parents who have been resident in Australia for 7 or more years, with the period of residence having commenced within 3 years of the birth of the applicant; have been accepted to undertake research or a recognised course of postgraduate study in Great Britain (but must not have commenced study); and not already hold a qualification at the same level or higher than the proposed study. Selection is based on academic merit, financial position, and personal qualities.

Amount $20,000

The scholarship is valued at approximately $20,000 per year. The value may be adjusted if the recipient receives another scholarship for the course/research to be undertaken in the United Kingdom. The scholarship is awarded for a minimum of 1 year, and a maximum of 3 years.
