Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarship (ICAS)

The Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarships (CAS) are available to Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students to assist with the high costs of relocating to undertake higher education.

Eligibility

Applicants must: be Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander of low socio-economic status; be commencing or undertaking a tertiary preparation program, associate degree, or undergraduate program as full-time Commonwealth supported students; be from a rural or regional area; and have not previously completed a bachelor degree or equivalent (except where it is an entry requirement for the current course). Tenure is dependent on satisfactory progress.

Amount $9,000

The scholarship is valued at $9,000 per year (pro-rata for part-time and fast-tracking) for the duration of the degree admitted enrolled in at time of application. Payable in Trimester 1, Trimester 2 and Trimester 3.
