This combined program provides students with an opportunity to undertake concurrent study and complete two awards in four years of full-time study (or equivalent). The Music program is for those with the interest in, and ability for, a career as a professional musician or in a music-related field. During the program students undertake a required sequence of practical and academic courses. The Arts program enables you to study what you are passionate about in life, and to gather skills that will prepare for the work place and a wide variety of careers. You have the flexibility to choose from a broad range of majors and minors, taught face to face, online, and on different campuses. You can tailor your program to match your specific interests, including pursuing themes and disciplines, gaining work experience, engaging with industry, and completing research projects.
Structure
The Bachelor of Music Program is a 320 unit program (usually 80 units per year over 4 years)
comprising of 160 units of Core Music Courses, 30 units of Core Arts courses and one of the following options: one (1) 80 unit Arts major and one (1) 40 unit Arts minor and 10 units of Electives
OR one (1) 80 unit Arts major and 50 units of Electives. Students receive tuition in principal instrument and attend classes in essential core academic curricula and directed courses. Students have opportunities to showcase their work in a variety of venues and presentation styles. Final examinations can include a public recital or presentation.

Study pathways
Credit may be available for previous study. Students wishing to become high school teachers can apply for entry to the Master of Teaching following the Bachelor degree. Honours is available in either Music or Arts as an additional year to meritorious students.
