This program provides health professionals with a knowledge base relevant to the provision of mental health services in their practice environments. Learning activities consist of a systematic reading program, weekly tutorials and intensive workshops. Students may participate in tutorials via telephone or video conference, but must attend two blocks (five days and three days) of workshops on campus each semester.As this program does not satisfy student visa requirements, prospective international students should consider the Master of Mental Health program.

Standard entry requirements

An approved degree in a health, social work or related discipline and have completed one-year full time (or equivalent) work experience in a mental health setting, as approved by the Executive Dean OR an approved degree in a different discipline and have completed two years full-time (or equivalent) work experience in a mental health setting, as approved by the Executive Dean OR completion of post-secondary study and completion of five years full-time (or equivalent) work experience in a mental health setting, as approved by the Executive Dean.
