The scholarship was established in 1993 by the Queensland Branch of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) to encourage a meritorious student who is undertaking third year study in the Bachelor of Engineering program in either chemical engineering, chemical and biological engineering, chemical and materials engineering, chemical and metallurgical engineering, or environmental engineering. Professor Ming Leung was a greatly respected and highly talented chemical engineer as well as Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering from 1980 to 1985. His untimely death was a great loss to both the profession and to the university.
Eligibility
Applicants must: be enrolled full-time in the third year of a Bachelor of Engineering; be a member of ICHemE, or have applied for membership prior to application and not hold a scholarship that the Head of School considers to be similar. Selection is based on academic merit, and leadership potential.
