Boeing top-up scholarship
University of South Australia
The University of South Australia has a PhD top-up scholarship available for students to conduct research in security of cyber-physical systems. This project aims to detect passive and active attacks on cyber-physical systems such as intelligent transportation, smart grids, advanced healthcare systems etc. These attacks can occur In the form of eavesdropping, data integrity attacks and denial of service attacks. The proposed project will investigate methods for rapid detection of such attacks, making systems robust and resilient against such attacks, and develop defensive strategies for operating under such attacks. The technical approach will involve statistical signal processing for change detection, game theoretic techniques for network intrusion detection, and dynamic control and optimization techniques, for example. The top-up scholarship would be ideal for a student who has an interest in game theory, security and privacy, control and signal processing and their applications to cyber-physical systems involving multiple sensors and actuators operating over wireless networks. The successful candidate will work with Professor Subhra Dey from the Institute for Telecommunications Research at the University of South Australia. For more information about the research of the Institute for Telecommunications Research visit: http://unisa.edu.au/Research/Institute-for-Telecommunications-Research/
