The Chris Adams UniSA Research Grant honours the life, of Chris Adams who was diagnosed with brain tumour at the age 26 and passed away in late 2015. The grant will be awarded to a University of South Australia early-career research staff member (less than 5 years since PhD conferral) or Doctorate by Research or Masters by Research student from any Division of the University of South Australia who is contributing to brain tumour research. The grant may be used to cover research-related travel e.g. presenting at an international conference, collecting data, collaborating with international or interstate experts, or any other relevant purpose outlined in the written statement.
Eligibility
Applicants are required to provide a letter of support from the relevant Centre Director, Institute Director or Head of School, or a principal supervisor reference, and a written statement (maximum 1000 words) detailing: - Alignment with brain tumour research, the importance of the research, and its contribution to society. - How the research grant will be used, including a budget. - How the research will be enhanced by the grant. The grant may be used to cover: - Travel to undertake research or presenting at an international conference - Collaborating with international conference - Collaborating with international or interstate experts - Any other relevant purpose outlined in the written statement. The grant funds should be utilised within 12 months of payment. If it is not expected that the funds will be used within the timeframe, the reasons must be outlined in the written statemen. Recipients will be required to provide a written statement to report to the Neurosurgical Research Foundation (NRF) at the conclusion of their travel or project detailing the grant's impact and how it supported their research. The grant will be awarded on the basis of the written statement, and letter of support from the relevant Centre Director, Institute Director or Head of School or principal supervisor's recommendation.
