Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure Scholarship in Civil Engineering

The scholarship is provided by the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure.
Eligibility
Applicants must be Australian citizens or Permanent Residents? and enrolled full-time. Applicants will be required to submit a resume and a personal written statement outlining their future in engineering and how the scholarship will be of benefit to them in achieving this. Applicants must have an interest in transport and have the ability to act as a positive ambassador for the Department of Planning? Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI). Nominations will be considered by a selection panel consisting of a representative(s) from DPTI and nominees from the School of Natural and Built Environments at the University of South Australia. Recipients will be selected on the basis of academic merit? measured by overall Grade Point Average (GPA)? a personal written statement (min 500 words) and performance at an interview. Continuation of the scholarship each year will depend on satisfactory academic achievement in the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Civil) or associated programs at the University of South Australia. Scholarship recipients should maintain a GPA of 4.5 or above. Subject to maintaining such academic performance as is required to remain on the scholarship program? recipients will be offered one 12 week period of paid vacation employment with DPTI at the end of the third or fourth year of their studies. Recipients may choose to apply for additional paid vacation employment with DPTI through the advertised recruitment campaign? additional placements are subject to a merit based selection process and are not guaranteed.

Amount | $5,400 The value of the scholarship is $10?800 in total (up to $5?400 per annum). Recipients will receive two annual payments after the Study Period 2 and Study Period 5 census dates. The amount of each payment will depend on the duration of the recipient's degree program. |
