Zero Waste SA Pam Keating Memorial Scholarship

The Zero Waste SA Pam Keating Memorial Scholarship for Honours Students has been established in memory of Pam Keating, a noted environmentalist and waste management expert, who passionately believed in the importance of reducing waste and its impact on our environment, and was committed to education and training for sustainability.

Eligibility

The scholarship is available to full-time or part-time students can Honours or Masters program in an area of interest to the Zero Waste SA Research Centre. These areas include: behaviour change; measuring consumption and ecological footprints; resource efficiency and life cycle measurement; decision making; waste minimisation and waste avoidance; resource recovery; recycling and behaviour change; sustainable consumption; values towards reductions of waste and consumption and material flow. Selection is based on academic merit (Grade Point Average) and an interview. Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents and have the ability to be a positive ambassador for the objectives of Zero Waste SA.

Recipients will also be offered 6 hours of informal mentoring or in-kind assistance by Zero Waste SA and may have the opportunity to undertake paid employment at Zero Waste SA during the summer vacation period.

Amount $10,000

The scholarship is valued at $10,000 for full-time students, paid in 2 instalments of $5,000 after the study periods 2 and 5 census dates. Part-time students will receive 4 instalments of $2,500 after the study periods 2 and 5 census dates paid over 2 years.
