Sister Elizabeth Kenny Scholarship

The scholarship was initiated by the Sister Elizabeth Kenny Memorial Fund (SEKMF) which was set up for the funding of the Sister Elizabeth Kenny Chair in Rural and Remote Nursing at the university, and is now assisting Nursing students. Each year, USQ offers the Sister Elizabeth Kenny Scholarship to an undergraduate student entering their second or third year of their Bachelor of Nursing degree, who intends on undertaking a clinical placement in a rural area.

Eligibility

Applicants must: be Australian citizens or permanent residents; be entering into the second or third year of the Bachelor of Nursing in Semester 1; be enrolled on-campus at any USQ campus in any mode of study; and be enrolled in a minimum of 3 study units in Semester 1 and Semester 2.

Amount $5,000

The scholarship is valued at $5,000 for 1 year. Payments of $2,500 are made each semester and the second instalment will be subject to satisfactory progress.
