The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) will allow you to pursue research from the many fields in which the faculty has expertise. Candidates will complete the degree in one to two years during which time they will undertake research culminating in the submission of an 50,000 word thesis. This course is designed for students aiming to advance their knowledge in a specific area of science while building valuable skills like critical analysis, problem solving, and project management. Ideal candidates hold a relevant Bachelor's or Master's degree with research experience.

Entry requirements
- To be eligible for admission to the Master of Philosophy (Science), you must have completed the equivalent of one of the following in a subject area related to your proposed research area:
- bachelors degree with a minimum overall credit average in the senior level unit(s) of study relevant to the proposed area of research or
- masters degree, performed at a high academic standard, and which includes a substantial component of original research or
- an equivalent qualification that demonstrates research experience, excellence and capability.
