Laurie Cowled Regional Scholarship

The Laurie Cowled Regional Scholarship has been established for the purposes of funding a female undergraduate student relocating from a rural or regional area to undertake a Bachelor of Engineering degree.

Eligibility

Applicants must: be female; be Australian or New Zealand citizens, or permanent residents, or humanitarian visa holders; be commencing full-time studies in their first year undergraduate program; be relocating from a regional or remote area to study at USC; be enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering (or another degree with a focus on mathematics within the Faculty of Science, Health, Education, and Engineering); have achieved a minimum OP8 or equivalent; and be in financial need. Preference will be given to a student enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering, as listed (see scholarship URL for the listing of other eligible undergraduate degrees). High academic achiever, minimum OP8 (or equivalent); financial need; preference will be given to a student enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering degree.

Amount $5,000

The Scholarships are paid in instalments of $2,500 per semester, for the normal duration of the program, up to a maximum of 8 semesters. $5,000 per annum for up to 6 semesters for a 3 year program up to a maximum of $15,000. $5,000 per annum for up to 8 semesters for a 4 or 5 year program up to a maximum of $20,000.
