The USC Study Support Bursary was established by the generosity of Mr Roy and Mrs Nola Thompson to help support USC students with their studies. USC Staff and Alumni also support the bursaries through the Starfish Program. The intention of the bursary is to support students from low socio-economic backgrounds, with a preference for students who must work to support their studies. It is hoped that recipients will be able to apply more time to studies and less to paid employment.

Eligibility

Applicants must: be currently enrolled full-time in a USC undergraduate program and have completed at least 1 semester of full-time study (48 credit points). Achievement of GPA of 4.0 or higher. Selection will be based on financial need, hours worked in paid employment or commitment to activities that impact on the time available to the student to study (e.g. compulsory fieldwork placement, significant Carer responsibilities) and academic merit.

The scholarship is valued at $2,000 or $4,000.
