The Master of Computer Science will provide you with the skills and ability to solve complex real-world problems by integrating computer science methods with effective management strategies, and by developing and deploying computer applications. During this degree, you will be able to put theory into practice with an individual capstone project. As a graduate of this program, you will be able to solve complex real-world problems by integrating computer science methods with effective management strategies. Through developing and using computer applications, you will be able to apply key information and expert judgement in computer software design to communicate knowledge, ideas and procedures to IT staff and external stakeholders. You will develop independent learning strategies to keep abreast of innovations in technology and computer science, industry trends and standards.

Structure

To qualify for award of the degree of Master of Computer Science, complete 96 credit points and satisfy all course requirements for the degree outlined in the course structure below:a) 48 credit points of core subjectsb) For Wollongong campus only, and if undertaking a specialisation, to qualify for your specialisation complete 18 credit points from the specialisation list below and an additional 30 credit points of electives from the CSCI Graduate Subject List.c) For Wollongong and Liverpool campus, or if not undertaking a specialisation, to qualify for the degree of Master of Computer Science complete 12 credit points from the no specialisation options below and an additional 36 credit points of electives from the CSCI Graduate Subject List.

Standard entry requirements

Recognised Bachelor degree with an equivalent average mark of 60% in any area. Applicants with other qualifications and substantial relevant professional experience may be considered.

Accredited by the Australian Computer Society (ACS) at a "Professional Level".
