Mechanical Engineers operate machines and tools to develop anything from water bottles to cars and have contributed to almost everything that people drive, play with or live in. This degree teaches you how to design and manage the construction, operation and maintenance or equipment used in many industries, with the opportunity to take specialised courses in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, mechanics of solids and many more.

Structure

Students must complete 60 days of Industrial Training and 168 Units of Credit.

  • Composite Structures, Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM), Fluid Dynamics, Heat Transfer, Materials Science, Noise and Vibration, Power Generation, Thermodynamics.

Standard entry requirements

  • Year 12 or equivalent
  • Assumed knowledge: Mathematics Extension 1 and Physics.
