The aim of this online course is for a graduate to possess necessary knowledge and clinical skills to practice mental health nursing skilfully and within ethical and legal boundaries, and who can think abstractly and critically. The course encourages critical examination of current issues in mental health within national strategic directions for mental health care. Students gain understandings of how to use the self therapeutically, and the experiences of people who have mental illnesses, disorders and crises. Students who successfully complete this course may transfer into the Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing.
