Become an innovator, a creative force, a leader in the business world. With the Bachelor of Business program, students can major in marketing, management, human resource management and even complete a double major, creating a custom degree that will launch their career. Students may aspire to continue their family's business, join a global company or have already launched their own start-up. During the Bachelor of Business, students will learn the legal and financial skills for going into business. They will also explore marketing techniques to make sure their product or service gets in front of the people they want to reach. Students will also undertake a practical placement, internship or project. They will get first-hand insights into how companies work and have plenty of choice for electives as well as being able to focus on their favourite business area. Students will perfect their professional skills through core subjects like accounting, creativity and innovation and management principles. Double majors and specialisations are available in Marketing, Management and Human Resources Management. This program requires participation in a range of WIL/work experience type activities and these will negotiated with students individually. The time component is variable.

Entry Requirements:

Units 1 and 2 of mathematics (any); Units 3 and 4: study score of at least 20 in any English; or mature age entry

Structure:

The program consists of 10 core courses and 14 electives. The completion of 7 electives in a particular area will provide students with a major in either Management, Marketing or Human Resource Management.

Study Pathways:

Students can progress to the Bachelor of Business (Honours) as a prelude to a higher degree in research or a professional qualification. Credit will be considered if students have successfully completed higher education or TAFE studies in a relevant area.

Work Integrated Learning is a mandatory component of the program and can be undertaken in many formats including internships and placements. Students may apply for the Industry Placement Program (IPP) available at Gippsland Campus, which offers up to 26 weeks of industry based experience. IPP students receive a scholarship payment of up to $15,000.
