This qualification is part of the Automotive Industry Retail, Service and Repair Training Package. It covers the skills and knowledge required to perform a broad range of tasks on a variety of mobile plant machinery in the automotive retail, service and repair industry.

No minimum education


36 units: 22 core; 14 elective

Core: Follow environmental and sustainability best practice in an automotive workplace; Follow safe working practices in an automotive workplace; Test and repair basic electrical circuits; Diagnose and repair compression ignition engine management systems; Diagnose and repair charging systems; Diagnose and repair heavy vehicle compression ignition engines; plus more. Electives: Respond to customer needs and enquiries in an automotive workplace; Diagnose and repair air conditioning and HVAC systems; Inspect, test and replace heavy vehicle automatic transmissions; Diagnose and repair mobile plant suspension systems; plus more.
