Charles Sturt's Bachelor of Criminal Justice equips students with the advanced skills and knowledge to work in any of a number of diverse fields. Through the practical application of studies, this course prepares people wanting to go into policing/law enforcement, probation and parole, juvenile justice, and work with refugees, criminal offenders, victims and their families - to really make a difference to people, communities and society at large. A field placement in a justice, welfare or community agency in either government or private sector not only provides valuable learning but may result in employment.

Year 12 or equivalent

Structure:

Students complete 192 points (equivalent to 24 subjects). Students take core subjects in sociology, psychology, politics, criminology and law, and then choose further subjects according to their personal and/or career interests.

Study Pathways:

Charles Sturt University frequently recognises prior learning including study at other institutions in many of its degrees. Each request for credit is individually assessed prior to the commencement of the course.

Further information:

Students will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to progress to the Associate Degree in Policing Practice (ADPP) or to pursue a more generalist criminal justice pathway.
