This course is designed to equip students with a broad dentistry skill set including preventative and operative dentistry, enabling them to pursue a diverse and rewarding career as an oral health therapist, dental therapist or dental hygienist. The course has a strong focus on work integrated learnings in pre-clinical and clinical settings, with students exposed to a range of facilities, including CQUniversity's purpose built oral health laboratory and dental clinic at CQUniversity Rockhampton. As a result students will gain valuable practical experience whilst increasing their employability.

Standard entry requirements

English (Units 3 & 4, C) or equivalent, one of Biology, Chemistry or Physics (Units 3 & 4, C) or equivalent. English language requirements apply.

Recognition

Upon completion of the Bachelor of Oral Health students will be able to apply to the Dental Board of Australia for registration as an Oral Health Therapist, Dental Therapist and Dental Hygienist. The course is approved by the Australian Dental Council Board for accreditation in accordance with s48 of the National Law.

Further information

Students are required to attend residential schools during this course. In addition, 1000 hours of clinical placement must also be undertaken.
