This program aims to provide graduates from an accounting or non-accounting background with the opportunity to undertake studies leading toward associate membership of CPA Australia or entry into the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand to undertake the CA program or enter the IPA professional program.

Standard entry requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree (AQF Level 7), major or other qualification (at a higher AQF level) in a related discipline, Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 60%
  • Or a Bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum WAM of 60, PLUS two years relevant work experience
  • Or successful completion of the Masters Qualifying Program (MQP)

Recognition

Completion of the appropriate selection of units within the Master of Professional Accounting grants eligibility for entry as an associate member of CPA Australia, and meets the educational requirements for entry into the CA program of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ), the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA), Professional Accounting Program (PEP). Upon completion of appropriate program units, it is also possible to receive exemptions from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) towards the ACCA qualification. Completion of this qualification will allow students to enter the Certified Management Accountants (CMA) study program.
