This degree is designed to provide students from any health professional background the opportunity to deepen their advanced skills and theoretical knowledge base in a variety of areas of clinical rehabilitation practice, apply these new skills in a range of clinical settings, and to contribute to the current and future body of knowledge in clinical rehabilitation.

Structure

Students complete four core (compulsory) topics and a dissertation or clinical research component combined with option topics that can be chosen from a range of topics available. Graduates of this course will be able to demonstrate and apply advanced knowledge of the principles and practice of clinical rehabilitation, critically analyse and apply established theories to a rehabilitation program or service, and research and apply new knowledge to the clinical rehabilitation setting.Students may undertake professional experience placement as part of the course. Standard entry requirements

  • Applicants must normally hold the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Rehabilitation or equivalent qualification
  • Or a degree or equivalent qualification in a related area and must have at least two years' post degree work experience in a related clinical area.Applicants must provide details of their work experience in rehabilitation in their SATAC application.

Study pathways

The University may, under certain circumstances and subject to specific conditions, consider applicants who do not hold a bachelor degree or equivalent but can demonstrate relevant higher education study with relevant work experience, or relevant work experience which may meet the requirements for entry into the course.
