This degree examines environmental policies, strategies and management systems, with a major focus on the recognition and development of sustainable environmental management in both urban and non-urban environments. It is international in scope but case study material draws strongly on the experience of Australia and other countries within the Asia-Pacific region.

Structure

  • Students complete eight core (compulsory) topics
  • either a minor research project or a major research project
  • and option topics chosen from a range of option topics available. These topics aim to introduce students to contemporary theory and practice in environmental management and to the study of environmental processes and systems and provides a range of practical skill based topics such as field investigations, geographical information systems or groundwater hydrology.

Standard entry requirements

Applicants must normally hold a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification. in environmental sciences, environmental studies, development studies, geography, public health or social sciences.

Study pathways

The University may, under certain circumstances and subject to specific conditions, consider applicants who do not hold a bachelor degree or equivalent but can demonstrate relevant higher education study with relevant work experience, or relevant work experience which may meet the requirements for entry into the course.
