- This is a 36-unit pathway where students complete one core (compulsory) topic: Social Work Research in Practice Settings
- and seven option topics chosen from a range of option topics available to further their knowledge in interest areas.

Standard entry requirements
- Applicants must hold an approved four year bachelor Honours degree or equivalent qualification in the discipline of social work recognised by the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW)
- Or hold an approved bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in the discipline of social work recognised by the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW) and must also have a minimum of 2 years' full-time equivalent professional work experience (paid or volunteer) following the completion of this degree.

Applicants who do not hold an approved four year bachelor Honours degree in social work recognised by the AASW but hold an approved bachelor degree or equivalent qualification recognised by the AASW must provide details of their work experience following the completion of this degree in their SATAC application.
