Prepare for a career in international business through studies in international relations, international human resource management and international marketing. This course is structured to allow students to major in international business and complete a semester studying overseas if students choose. They can also complete a second major in a language or in another field, such as international development. Studies in business will cover accounting, finance, economics, human resource management, and marketing. Students will approach these subjects from a global perspective, looking at the social, cultural and institutional influences on international business They will examine the way the global economy interacts with international politics, along with the role of multilateral treaties and institutions such as the United Nations system. Along with the options to study overseas or study a second language, students can also tailor this degree to their specific interests through up to eight electives from across the University. These electives could include international trade, international financial management, international development, or Asian studies. La Trobe's unique industry Professors of Practice work within this course to improve course curriculum, student learning experience, and engage with industry and business.
Students will need to complete at least 360 credit points. First year includes four business foundation subjects, two international business-specific subjects and two elective subjects. The business foundation subjects, Business Foundations, Accounting and Finance for Business, Business Economics, and Business Analytics, introduce students to business disciplines and work-ready skills. These skills will be enhanced in second and third year with subjects in Sustainability and Entrepreneurship, respectively. Students will also complete eight core international business subjects over the degree. This degree has an international focus, so students can complete a language major. Students can also do a semester of electives in second year, with the option of studying overseas. Students can take an additional eight-subject major, one or two four-subject minors, or a range of electives.

Standard entry requirements
- VCE Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL. NSW HSC Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or 20 in any other English. Applicants with comparable qualifications will be considered
- International students must meet the academic and English language requirements. NB: Meeting minimum prerequisites does not guarantee an offer of a place. Entry into all La Trobe courses is based on competitive selection and there may be limited places available.
