Latrobe Lifeskills has been providing activities and supports to people with disability since 1998, based out of the La Trobe University Bundoora and Bendigo campuses. Latrobe Lifeskills has a unique approach in which the Registered Training Organisation (RTO) arm works alongside the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Registered Provider arm. Participants and Students can access Accredited Training whilst participating in NDIS community engagement supports and services. Latrobe Lifeskills recognises the importance and value in growing Participants and Students' Foundation Skills to enrich their learning, increase social inclusion, and expand their individual choice and control. Foundation Skills provides continuity for Participants and Students transitioning post-school to furthering their education in the VET sector. Courses are designed to guide Participants and Students towards an outcome of multiple avenues ranging from supported employment through Australian Disability Enterprises, to open employment, work experience placement and/or volunteer work through industry linkages and collaboration. Latrobe Lifeskills is committed to providing and supporting a sustainable partnership between Participants and Students, families, staff and other professionals who support the Participants and Students and/or the programs. Our ethos places Participants and Students at the centre of Latrobe Lifeskills' practice, and we endeavour to provide crucial support services and educational outcomes to disadvantaged learners in the years to come.
