This program teaches proficient bilinguals the skills and knowledge to work as professional translators and interpreters in specialised contexts. It focuses on the acquisition of theoretical knowledge relevant to translating and interpreting practice and their application in professional practice. Students are also required to design and implement an extensive research project and execute practicum projects with our industry partners in a variety of settings. It is set apart from the Master of Translation and Interpreting Studies in that it allows graduates to achieve greater depth in either Translation or Interpreting or in both disciplines. Students will also take elective subjects in Linguistics, Applied Linguistics or Translating and Interpreting, for more advanced grounding in the discipline. It also contains a considerable research component to develop research techniques and skills that are highly beneficial in professional contexts.

- GPA of 4.50 (out of 7.00)
- Proficiency in one of the available languages
Recognition
NAATI (National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters) is the accrediting authority for translators and interpreters in Australia. Students will be required to meet all the requirements set in each semester throughout the period of their study in this program. Gaining accreditation through this program will be subject to: the successful completion of all the required units in this program.
