This program helps students become high calibre practitioners who are well grounded in theory and practice, and capable of working within a range of clinically oriented areas. It consists of three main components: A series of theoretical and technical units in areas fundamental to practice and research in clinical neuropsychology; Supervised placement experiences in neuropsychological settings; A research proposal and dissertation.

Recent APAC accredited Australian level 8 qualification in psychology (with first class or second class honours division one) or recognised equivalent; eligibility for provisional or full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia. Study Pathways:

After completion of specified pre-requisite units in the Master of Clinical Neuropsychology program students may apply to transfer to the Doctor of Clinical Neuropsychology or the Combined Doctor of Philosophy with Master of Clinical Neuropsychology program. Students may also be considered for admission to the professional doctorate if they hold a Master of Clinical Neuropsychology or equivalent qualifications from another institution within the last 10 years and/or current endorsement as a Clinical Neuropsychologist. Assessment for transfer is based on academic progress and personal suitability.

Applications for this program are competitive. Satisfying the admission criteria does not guarantee a place on the program. Submission of supplementary details and 2 referees reports are required for the competitive selection process for ranking to the interview stage. The Faculty of Human Sciences offers a limited number of merit-based Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP) for this program. Places will be granted according to academic merit and other selection criteria and awarded to the most highly ranked applicants who have been granted a firm offer. Students do not need to apply separately for this. The course is available for internal study in Session 1 only.

Recognition:

The degree is accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council and approved by the College of Clinical Neuropsychologists. Completion of the Master of Clinical Neuropsychology leads to registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and endorsement as a clinical neuropsychologist in Australia.
