Educators are increasingly looking to use research evidence to inform their practice. This program offers a distinct approach to professional learning for teachers and leaders who want to use research better.Through a 20-hour online learning program, participants will develop their knowledge, skills and confidence in using research evidence as part of school-based practice and improvement.The program consists of a series of facilitator-guided webinars, self-paced learning modules with illustrations of practice from Australian schools, and school-based projects, with coaching support. Over the 10-week program, participants will learn how to integrate research and other evidence to improve practice and student outcomes, and gain confidence in using research and in supporting others to use research.The program aligns with Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and meets the criteria for elective professional development.

Standard entry requirements

Vertical school teams are encouraged to participate, consisting ideally of at least one school leader and one teacher. Individuals from other schools and organisations are also welcome to register for the course and will be allocated to school groups with similar research use improvement priorities.
